It’s a brand-new world all over again. Stop being so old, friend, be born again with the world today.
Look how each blade of grass is topped by a bead of light, like birthday candles to the day.
Go ahead. Start over. It can’t be that hard. The sun does it every brand-new day.
Thanks for the birthday-candle image! Wonderful.
I’m glad you liked it, RAB.
Very nice!
Thanks.
What I remember from my course in Anglo-Saxon:
The sun was called “earth’s candle” and the word “daisy” is a compression of “day’s eye.”
Of course, I remember a little more than that from the course. But, you know how it is with languages. If you don’t keep using it, . . .
Someday I would love to really delve into Anglo-Saxon. I like that image of the sun as a our candle.
I think Joan Rivers practices that theory…lol
You mean she greets the day with a brand-new face. 🙂
Not to mention the unmentionables..
What a cheery sentiment, YS!
Thanks, Courtenay. I need to remind myself that every day really is a new beginning.
I’m always amazed by the cycles and circles of beginning-middle-ending that are lurking in each and every day. Love that.
Wow. Just wow. I read it, re-read it, re-re-read it, thought about it, and got chills. That birthday candle image is beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
I’m so happy that you liked it. Thank you for reading.
Daily reinvention sounds good to me.
And to me, too.
I simply adore your writing.
Thank you so much.
Yeah, but the sun is just a big ball of flaming gas, and I’m… Okay, great analogy.
🙂
Thank you for that bit of humor. I am like the sun that way, too.
Heehee – glad to know I’m not alone in that!
Words to live by!
I need to remind myself of this all the time.
